Days of the Beer, July 4

The beer for today is Anchor Liberty Ale. I had originally wanted to have it be Red White and Blue beer, but apparently that's no longer made :( .

Do I really need to explain why it's LIBERTY ale for today?

Let's see what Anchor has to say about Liberty Ale.

Liberty Ale was first introduced on April 18th, 1975 to commemorate the bicentennial of the famous ride by Paul Revere. Before it became a permanent year-round product, variations of our Liberty Ale formula enjoyed brief tenures as Our Special Ale, available at Christmastime.
So, it's more for April 18, but just toss back a Liberty in honor of Independence. (If it wasn't for that Independence, the previous sentence would read "... in honour of Independence.")

Terrific choice, I'd say. I too was hoping to have a particular beer (Chamberlain Pale Ale) but the local outlet was sold out. I went with Deschutes Cinder Cone Red but it doesn't have the historic connotation your choice has.
